What is the GPAA?
(as taken from our club founders website)
The Gold Prospectors Association (GPAA) was founded in 1968 to preserve and promote the great heritage of the North American Prospector. The GPAA was also dedicated to providing a platform for the exchange of information, presenting an organized voice for recreational and professional prospectors and helping it’s members find more gold.
Our Story
The Allegheny Chapter of the GPAA was founded by Paul L. and Nellie S. in spring of 1997. The first meeting was held at the Greenville Riverside Park in Greenville, Pa and consisted of 33 members, 3 of which still participate in our chapter today: Bill B., George C. and Jim G. the Allegheny Chapter has since grown to approximately 300 members and continues to grow monthly. We would like to thank all of our members for there participation and we hope to continue with the good times, good company, and of course, finding “that there yeller stuff”.
Here is link to where all our current members are located in around the county.
