BULLETIN!!!!

January meeting canceled! 7 to 10 inches of snow expected. Hopefully will see everyone at the next scheduled meeting in February 14th.

End of the Year 2008 Recap

The year has been full of events. Here’s a recap.

• We averaged 95 people per meeting. With the most during our October meeting /  Annual Membership Appreciation Day.
  .
• In May there was a trip to The Herkimer Diamond Mine. Which from the people who went had a grand old time.
  .
• Through out the year we had visits from the East Gold Prospectors Association talking to us about what they are doing for gold prospectors this side of the Mississippi. Such as they are working with the DEP on getting dredging permits for there claims in PA.
  .
• Of course there is the great gold pricing this year where gold spiked to over a $1000/oz!
  .
• This past March’s meeting was canceled  meeting this year because it was expected and we did receive between 5 and 12 inches of snow that day.
  .
• In June we had a work party that started the creation of a road by the creek so people can move there equipment and also this opened up more areas for people to have tents.
  .
• A creation of a Liability waiver was done that must be signed by anyone that uses the property.
  .
• For this past Labor day the Ohio Chapter invited us to the Swank property for there annual Gold Rush days.
  .
• This past August we held elections for the 2008-2009 season The officers are:
  .President: Calvin H.  / Vice president: Rob S. /  Secretary: Carly R. / Treasurer: Jim G.

In October we had our 2nd Annual Membership Appreciation Day.
