(to be added)

November 10th meeting

55 members were in attendance to the first indoor meeting at the fire hall.

We will be having some flyers made up about our specific chapter for handing out to people at any of the shows that we may do.

During the winter months it was mentioned that the officers of the club as well as its members should think about what we want to do for the upcoming year, to make plans now, since things like the Herkimer diamond trip fell though this year because it was to short a notice for members to get time off. So during the next few winter meetings an agenda will be made up so there is plenty of time for people to make arrangements to go and do the trips and shows that the club agrees upon doing.

Possible shows that we may do in 2008. Niles expo (February 29 thru March 2nd), and the Austintown show (March 29th/30th). We may do one or both depending upon if we can get volunteers to do the shows.

The chapter is just beginning the earliest of looking at maybe finding a property in Ohio that is close to the Pa border that we can go and do dredging at, since the GPAA is not willing to help the chapters go though filling for permits. (see notes from the Carlisle show above). We will be looking for something close to the South Barry road, which is about 1 mile inside of Pa. That way the club can still meet at the one property with all it's members.

The GPAA has listed on 28 members as being in our chapter, so a list was passed around that will be turned in to the GPAA to show that we have much more. (The webmaster has counted at least 70+ people at the meetings) What happens is that when people sign up or renew there membership that have to state each time what chapter they are signing up for (or will be going with) if any at all. The chapters then get credits for merchandise in the GPAA store for there "members". So it is very important to remember to do this each and every renewal time.

There is a voluntary secret Santa for December's meeting. if you would like to be a part of it all you have to do is bring a wrapped present that costs between $10 and $15 dollars, guys bring a present for another guy, ladies bring a present for another lady. Again this is a voluntary tradition that we do in our chapter, only bring a present if you want to be a part of the secret Santa.

At the property

Only one group of people stayed over at the property November 10th to the 11th. Temperatures were in the low 40th and then dipped down to around freezing that night. What did they think they were doing? Yes they slept in a tent in 30 degree temperature.

Frost all over the place.
